undo the "tabs" on the cover so it will come off & bend them as little as possible as they are brittle. the kit might contain a new chrome cover an orange neoprene cover gasket 2 new shoes and a pin. You would seperate everything then clean it all up & pack the coupler cavity with good grease. the shoes with the long side(s) of them into the long side(s) of the coupler and the flat sides of the shoes go on the pin first so the tapered sides are on the outside. I've never replaced the "pin" but if it is worn you'd have to drill it out then freeze the new one & heat the shaft some to expand the hole then install/center it. there's a trick to recrimping the cover so it stays & I dont remember if it was crimping 2 tabs at a time with a set large pair of slip joint pliers or if it was crimping each tab individually. You want the length of the shaft so the shoes ain't at the bottom nor at the top of the coupler but somewhere in the middle for no binding

no pics/diagrams that I have ever run across however once you get in there you'll find that it is incredibly simple. only caveat is crimping the little tabs on the cover so they dont break off/& the cover stays tight when you go back together & some care needed uncrimping them (if you dont have a new cover). the kits I bought were from Evilbay decades ago & we're dirt cheap (~10 iirc) & had that distinctive orange seal. just remember that the long side of the 2 shoes goes in the long sides of the coupler (if you have a tight fit you have em in right) and that the flat side of the shoes goes on the pin first (against the shaft). been racking my rain to remember if you crimp the mini tabs individually with small pliers or crimp an opposite pair of in on the coupler with a large set of water pump pliers (It'll come to me in a day or so)
