Yea i'm running the GV set up on a 68 charger , got a 4.1 rear so it helps on the motorway , use it on the track too , is good for 1200 hp , although GV will upgrade to 2000 hp if needed.
Not many problems on installation , but had a control box go bad after a year , they sent a replacement straight away.
Unless you're real quick i don't think it's an advantage on the strip using all gears , i only used 3 over as the old motor ran out of steam through the traps (6200rpm).

Easy install. They give you a tailhousing extension for whatever trans you're using which places the gv unit at the proper location in the tunnel aft of the crossmember. No cutting required. Their kit also includes a speedo adapter to extend your cable to where the pickup on the gv unit is. Pretty straightforward easy install with basic hand tools.

I installed one in a '70 Challenger and I can say based on experience that the tunnel need clearancing. You will probably need to hammer clearance into the tunnel. Also, if you are using the stock floor shifter, the shift linkage needs to be bent to accomodate the larger/thicker tailhousing. The lower shifter mounting bracket won't fit unless you grind material off the mounting flange. You will need to check for clearance between the transmission x-member and tailhousing because of the added thickness tailhousing. I needed to use an updated urathane mount to keep it from ratteling against the x-member.
