Putting together the interior of my 71 charger. The car has a manual tranny. when I bought the car the seats were not put together but it came with bucket seats and and center seat. Now that I am putting it together I am can't figure out to install it. the brackets don't line up at all. Is it possible that this doesn't go with the car or am i just missing some type of brackets? I looked around on ebay and in my shop manual and can't find anything on how this would go together.

Here is the bottom brackets on the bottom of the seat.

Here is the front brace on the car. You can see the whole for the pistol grip shifter at the top.

Here are the back brackets.

Looks like the car came with a buddy seat

Any idea how the seat is supposed to attach to the brackets? They don't seem to line up in any way?

Does the person that sits in the middle just straddle the stick?

I had a similar center arm rest seat in my '68 Charger. Mine was a column shift automatic though. That should work fine with a long Hurst Pistol Grip handle as they were designed for a bench seat. I never had anyone over 4 years old in that seat. No room for an adult and yep you won't be able to shift with anyone sitting there.

Yes , that is what someone in the middle would do , it's more of an ARM rest than a seat.

Sounds like it is a fit. Just need to figure out how to attach the seat to the car now. I just keep thinking there must be a bracket that I am missing. I just can't figure out what that bracket is.

I think I found my answer. If you look at the photos on this link there is a metal square base that I am missing. Not sure why somebody would have taken it off. the bolts in the ebay pictures line up perfectly with my brackets. I have no idea where i would find such a base.

It is hard to see. The seat is black but the frame is black as well. The frame has bolts that line up with my brackets perfectly. Here is another one where you can see the frame on the bottom.

You have the wrong Center-Arm-Rest. scope Here are some pics of the floor brackets & "Buddy Seat" for a '72 GTX I'm currently working on. The moving part of the arm rest is tapered on the '71-?? b-bodies.

1972 Road Runner GTX 4-speed floor, I'll ASSUME your is the same.

6bbigt just saved me with the photos. I looked at your photos and realized there was no metal base. Took another look at my center seat and realized that who ever had the seat had covered up all the holes. Guess they never came back around and punched the holes. Now off to lows to get the right screws to install the seat.

Thanks for all the help guys.
