1971 only, and thicker diameter than the E and C bodies which are currently reproduced. Any idea where I can locate one of these? Did they start reproducing these recently?
Help.

Found a jam switch on Mega's web site, but it's the smaller one used on e-bodies. I need the larger diameter one for b-bodies.

How much smaller is the E-body thread?
Could you screw in a sleeve/helicoil/nutsert into your threads to adapt it?

Possible. I don't think it's pipe thread. I have the smaller 2-prong that fits losely into the hole

Rock Auto shows a single and a dual connection door jamb switch for 71 Chargers. With pictures. The single is the same part number for B or E body. The dual is not listed under the E body listing.

They say there is always the exception that proves the rule.
Don't be the exception.

Mine is three prong. I would prefer not to cut the wires.

Supercuda,
I checked out rockauto, none of those pictures looks like the one I need unfortunately. Thanks for checking.

Back in 2005 when I did my 71 E body, I could not find the correct size 3 pin switch for a E body. Like you said I remember finding one but it was the wrong size thread. Wonder if it was for a B body since I think it was too big?

What I did at the time and it still works fine today is build one out of I think was 3 switches I bought. Each switch had part of what I needed. Can't "cut" the wires on a 3 wire 71 door switch.

I read here that they are available on E bay and other places now, but I am not sure.

Got it. Now I have to decide to pay the premium. The e-body repops are $18 and the NOS one is $65. Bummer.
