I have looked at roller cams and roller lifters at ISKY Cams and really like what they are doing at their shop. I will be going with ISKY next spring and I already have a set of pro magnum rockers. Currently running solid lifters and I am looking for additional HP and torque. Pushing to go over 600 HP and get close to 700 torque.

Which could just as well happen with a roller.

My valves springs aren't super stiff. I didn't run soft springs. Just stock E-brock that I think are about one step up from stock or so. Only .511 lift minus lash on my cam.

Just primed engine (and rotated it), diesel oil, generous amounts of comp cam lube, Justice Brothers oil additive. Ran for 10 mins tops.

Because roller did not require startup breakin, recoated headers were not harmed and are doing well And I love the way the car sounds and runs. Wouldn't be surprised if picked up over 100 hp,,,cam and heads together.

Why would starting up a new motor with a roller cam run any cooler than one with a flat tappet starting up new?

If the timing was set correctly...it should not burn up the headers...have done several new tti on new engines (flat tappet)...retarded or not enough advance will make the headers glow...

iagree Unless it's lean or the timing is way off a new engines egt's shouldn't be any different than well broken in engines.
