Call PTC they can calculate exactly what you need, they build their converters to order, and they have good pricing.

What is your goal?
The factory converter will work fine. Why don't you start with that?

I called PTC. They said 9.5" 2800-3000rpm. Since I have never picked a converter, I wanted a second or third opinion on the best option. i'm using that converter with bigger tires and a touch more HP and like it. excellent street manners and really grabs and goes when you punch it!

We've been Turbo Action customers since 1977...they are who I would highly suggest. www.turboaction.com
Nautilus Racing- We use Superformance gaskets and Turbo Action converters/products.

Hello Moparts! Can you guys help me out? I'm looking for a torque converter recommendation for my freshly built 440. The car will be 99% street driven, both city and highway. Here’s the details: 1968 Sport Satellite 235/70/R15 tires 3:23 ratio Hydraulic roller cam 220/228 110 LSA .550/.560 lift Peak torque was 568tq at 3450rpm Peak power 519HP at 5400rpm.
What would you put in that has good street manors? Thanks!! My car is a 70 coronet. The engine is a 9.5:1 440, .040 over, RPM intake, 274/286 hyd/flat tappet cam, 3.91SG. I went with PTC on recommendations here and they spec'd me out a 9.5" dual stall 2000/3500 converter. I told them that I wanted something that handles easy out of the stoplights but really flashes hard when I jump on it. They sell a ton of these from what they said. PTC-9-5-TF-8-5-200+ Super great guys to work with.
