What do you guys typically see for Dyno numbers from your Indy 440-1 headed Wedge combinations ?

514 Cubic Inch
* 4.440" Bore(mp Block)
* 4.15" Stroke
* 6.76" Rod
* 13.5 C.R.
* 440-1's (ported)
* #8896 1050 cfm adapted down to the 4150 INDY Intake Manifold.
* 278 @ .050 Roller .685" Lift.

We're pretty happy with 805 hp/7000 and 690 ft/lbs/5200 as FINAL NUMBERS with the Air Cleaner installed on 34* ?

We wanted to stay under .700" lift Cam as easier on parts/valvetrain/V-Springs over time(lotsa hits planned), and the Block wouldn't take a bigger Bore hence the goofy 4.440" bore size, and well.... all we had was a 4.15" crank, so....

Pretty good numbers! thumbs

My motor is also 4.440" bore with Indy -1 heads but I have a 4.5" stroke. I went with 4.440" bore so if I ever needed to bore it I could still go to 4.5". I have dyno'd mine in 2 different configurations. The longer stroke typically adds some torque and lowers the peak HP over a smaller cube motor. HP seems to be related to heads and the bigger cube's just move the peak around. I made right around 806HP @ 6600 and 712 ft/lbs @ 5200 with at 11:1 compression and 93 pump gas mixed with a little 110 to play it safe. The cam in it is easy on valve train and under .700 lift. I pulled timing back a little and made a few pulls on straight 93 pump with an air cleaner and it made 784 HP @ 6400 and 697 ft/lbs @ 5500.

A few years prior to that I've ran it with 15:1 compression, a little bigger cam and race fuel. It made 852 HP @ 7200 and 723 ft/lbs @ 5500 RPM. Compression drop and cam change lowered the peaks a few 100 RPM and lost about 50 HP and 20 ft/lbs. Hope this helps.

What's it going it? beer

528 Megablock, 4.15 stroke. I made 847 hp on Methanol, injected, 15/1 compression with .761 intake lift and 280 duration intake lobes. Advantages for mine were 4.500 bore,3x intake, injection, a bit more compression and more lift plus a couple of degrees more cam. Yours did very well! If your dyno sheets look like mine, the power (hp)is roughly the same from 6500 all the way to 7,000 rpm?

8..603 156 mph best, 2905 lbs 549, indy 572-13, alky

My 526 C.I. 440 block(4.375x4.375) made a little more than yours, it had a set of MCH CNC ported 440-1 with the 2.250 intake valves in them. It made 845 HP at 7000 RPM with a single 1050 Dominator on a Indy 440-3 intake and 2 inch Wilson reversion spacer, no air cleaner though. I didn't have a big enough set of dyno headers for that motors so it would start to miss a little at 5200 RPM all the way up to 7500 RPM shruggy One of the other local Mopar racers has a all out 571 C.I., 4.5 x 4.5 World block with a set of 440-1 that made more (875 HP I think confused) HP than mine on another dyno at a lower elevation. shruggy IHTHs up

So we're in the ballpark, THANKS fella's !

It's going in buddy's '67 Coronet, full-pop 3800 lb W/driver, Monoleaf/Caltrac setup, Dana 60, 4.56 cogs driving 32's.
I gotta get out the sliderule and start doing some ET Calcs to figure out ET/rpm etc., etc.
Been awhile, but I'll figure it out.

Any ideas what it should be looking for in ET/mph at that power to weight with a good 60 ft time ?

Thanks in advance

800 hp is very possible with 13.5 compression and a good set of -1 heads. My 514 is the same bore and stroke as yours and I was making around 820 hp at 6700 rpm before I had the intake ported. I have EZ heads on my engine but they have a pretty good port job so they don't give up too much to a set of -1 heads.

There is a long thread on here somewhere with a lot pictures and numbers on my 514.

The Wallace Racing calculator says 805 hp at 3800 lbs should be around 9.80 in the 1/4.

1.33 60 ft,6.21 at 110.59 in the 1/8, pump gas small block,2950lbs,drag radials,mufflers and driven to track ...
