I have a 27" tall tire and 3.73 gears. What speedo gear should I use. The archives show 3.55 and 3.91 only of course.

You might put a piece of flat stock on top of one of your rear tires & measure the EXACT distance to ground. Tire mfr listed heights are usually not dead on accurate & this could tip you one way or the other on which pinion gear to select.

If tire is slightly less than 27" go with 37 tooth, if slightly more than 27" go with 36 tooth. If it is exactly 27" it would be a toss up between the two.

Tire is actually supposed to be 26.8. Its a G70-14.

What about the flat spot on the bottom of the tire?

Measuring the actual circumference is the most accurate way.

If the circumference dimention makes a more accurate read for this then I will start doing that & not recommending checking the height. I did use the piece of stock to get the height on my 65 dart to select the pinion gear & it's dead on but yeah the stackup of tolerances as in the tire dimention may have just worked out in my favor in this case.
