Hello. I am planning on putting 15" rims with 255 60/15 on rear and 225/60/15 on the front of my 1959 new yorker. The clearance looks to be ok but everything is a special order and I'm wanting to be sure (no returns). Has anyone done this already so I can learn from their mistakes first?

the tire sizes look to be no problem, but wheel width and back space will dictate if problems will arise. until those items are addressed, a definitive answer really can't be given. however, i am going to guess that if you use a factory 15 x 7 steel wheel on all corners, that "should" work.

I've never tried it on a 59 NY'er, but the stock 15x7 rims fit on things as esoteric as my 38 Plymouth to my 87 Diplomat, so I am guessing they should work fine here, but if you have anyone who can loan you a rim to test fit, go for it.

They say there are no such thing as a stupid question.
They say there is always the exception that proves the rule.
Don't be the exception.
