I have a Challenger body that was hit in the front. The body is totally rust free. I am looking at new front frame rails, inner fenders and core support. I saw these on ebay auction number 330772135233. They are made by dynacorn. Has any one used them? I have used AMD in the past and have been happy but this looks like a good price.

I'm not sure about the reproductions but every frame rail is different. 70, 71 and 72+ are not the same.

So what are the differences? Has anyone used the dynacorn front frame rails and inner fenders?

The main differences are in mounting holes. Things like different number of bumper bracket bolts and stuff like that. You could probably modify them to make them work, or maybe use parts for whatever year car the reproductions were modeled after.

I know a few dynacorn parts had shaky reviews when they first came out, but that was years ago, and I haven't seen them in person myself. I like AMD from everything I've seen & heard.

If your core support still has the matching body numbers stamped on it, try to save that piece (or as much of it as possible) so that the matching numbers will remain on the car.

Just in case it matters, there were also changes to the inner fenders through the years. Again, it's mainly mounting holes for stuff, but there were some shape differences also, regarding the battery hold down & the hold down bolt for California emissions. Some of the sheetmetal dimples are located differently also. Heck, the very early cars even had a different provision for grounding next to the radiator support. Lots of little subtle changes, it just depends how detailed you want your restoration to be.

I should have given more info. This is a 72 body the front is mangled no core support. It is going to be an NHRA Stock eliminator car. Running as a 340 6 pack 4sp in C,D/S. I will try and post a pic. Ok the only pics I had on the computer were from when it was delivered to me.

70-2E have the same bumper mounting holes, 2 each frame. 73-4 Has 3 per frame.
71-2B frames will fit right in your 72 and have the same bumper mounting holes.

The differences are in the mounting hole locations and if holes or welded nuts are there or not. The other would be how the radiator support mounts to the frame rail.

For what you want to do It doesn't matter. I probably have a 72+ California Challenger frame rail if you don't want to take your chances with a repop.

Nice tow vehicle! smile

It looks like you're missing at least one door. When you're ready to find that piece, the 70 cat whiskers (door fuzzies) were held on with clips (oval holes in door), while the later years were held on with screws (round holes in door). Make sure to find the right year of door or you'll have to buy both sets of cat whiskers and mix & match them to your mixed car.

I have lightened doors and fenders. I bought this body because it has absolutely no rust and from firewall back no dents. It is perfect race car material. I just need to put front frame rails, inner fenders and core support on it. The car will be run as a 70 TA. I really wanted to know if anyone had used the dynacorn preassembled inner fenders/frame rails.

If I was my car, I'd just find a used front clip and install as an assembly.
