Ive got a 96 Sebring , 2.5l , auto.
Having an electrical problem . I think its the alternator ... what do you guys think ?

when running multiple things like the AC on--fan on high --radio on , the dash lights will dim , the radio will power off , and i hear a "fast chirping" sound from under the dash (relay?) . after having this go on for a while , i can shut the car off, and it either cranks over VERY slow --or not at all,
as if the battery is dead.
All of this is exagerated at idle versus higher rpm

i pulled the battery today (2014 Diehard) and had it charged and load tested -- it tested good.

Alternator?
Or do these cars have some common weird mopar flaw ?

Im going to climb under it tonight and test alternator output voltage .

check battery cables at engine block and pos under hood jump block for corrosion

where is this "jump block" located ?

so today i put the battery in - had 12.8v on it

cleaned the cables--they had some light corrosion , but ive seen way way worse . Installed new bolts into batt. cleaned up a ground wire from batt to chassis. cleaned all the pins on all the relays .

So, at idle with lights / radio / ac / fan on high -- it drops to around 11.83 v , when the 2nd fan kicks on .
If i rev it up to 1500-2k , it goes to 13.8v or so .

I would think if the alt was bad i would have seen a big drain and all the symptoms would come back right away .

Im going to drive it today / tommorrow and see what happens. ive got jumpers in the trunk
