With a quality gasket and good surfaces you shouldn't have to use anything but the gasket I agree, and FWIW Superformance sells a real nice quality oil pump gasket, everything else is paper. You can get them from Mancini

With a quality gasket and good surfaces you shouldn't have to use anything but the gasket I agree , I have never used sealer on a BB mopar oil pump. You bigger concern is the poor machining of the pump itself , last melling Hi volume I used leaked between the filter adapter and the main body , 10 sheets of sandpaper later, on a surface plate, and the bad machining marks on the cover were gone ... and the leak I had was stopped.
