I have a '70 Cuda with stock power disc brakes. The car has a pull to the right initially when you hit the brakes. Even at slow speed (5-10mph), it is enough to move the steering wheel slightly. Not knowing a whole lot about brakes, I have checked the rear adjustment and the front wheel bearings and they both seem to be okay. I am not sure what the next step should be. Could this be a suspension problem?

not a susp prob. for some reason the Dr front side ain't doing its job. Both sides/shoes have to apply at the same time. first thing to check/do is spoon up those dr side front shoes. I crank it up till the wheel is locked then back off till as I spin the wheel FORWARD I can just hear a slight "tick" at one point of the tires' revolution. not a drag that slows it just listen for that tick. likely you will go past free then come back up to the tick.

He has front disc.
Check the left front brake hose might be swelled shut.
Piston in the caliper stuck.

And be sure the front strut bushings are nice and snug where they go through K frame.

I'll politely disagree, it could very well be a suspension or frame problem. Think loose tie rod ends, idler pitman, ball joints worn out bushings etc. Less likely is a frame related issue but possible. had a 56 Ford in several years ago with a R brake pull that several shops had looked at. They failed to notice the front suspension cross member was rotted 3/4 of the way around. beer

The left brake is not working as well as the right. Could be hose, caliper, etc.

Take care,

Okay, that makes sense, so I changed both calipers and pads today. The hoses have been recently changed, as well. Just got done with a test drive and the problem still remains. Have I run out of things to check with the brakes? Is it safe to assume that, if it is in the suspension, that it would be on the right side? Thanks.

Yes pretty much eliminates the brakes, sounds like a bad control arm bushing.

Take care,
Rick
