I'm looking for a new valve body for my 727. I'm keeping the forward pattern. I'm looking for a manual/automatic set up. The two I found is the Turbo Action http://m.summitracing.com/parts/tac-17676

The other is the CRT pro street HTTPS://www.coperacingtrans.com/product_info.php?cPath=23&products_id=62

Does anyone have any experience with either of these? I know CRTs reputation precedes themselves. But I do need to get one here quickly and I'm not sure how fast they ship out. Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

I've used the Turbo-Action valve body in my '66 Charger for years. No problems to report.

"Manual/automatic" is a marketing term, even a bone stock VB is manual/automatic.

Rather than replacing the VB, why not modify yours with a Transgo TF-2? It'll work as good or better.

I'm currently using the Turbo-Action 17676 valve body in my 727. It seems to work just fine, and the shifts are crisp but not overbearing. Mostly the reason I'd buy from T-A again is the customer support I received from Paul Forte when installing. Owner of the company was amazingly accessible, and spent time with me multiple times on the phone going over every little install item.

I humbly disagree with this..... I had a TF-2 Kit in my 727 for a few years. It still relies upon the throttle pressure linkage to control varying fluid pressure. Mine used to hold a gear even after I had shifted. I had to back off the pressure linkage when I was at the track in order to get it to respond to my shift input consistently, but then had to adjust it back up for it to work correctly on the street correctly. Depending on your expectation level: As good?... maybe???. Better? No. If your expectation is that your transmission will shift when you bang the gear EVERY time... a full manual is the only way to go.

And others don't? Any VB that is "automatic" relies on throttle pressure to control the shift points. The OP wants the automatic function.

That's a problem with the setup, not the shift kit's fault.

I've used the TF-2 for many street builds. It works very well but if you want the car to upshift at a certain rpm on its own while left in drive, get a governor kit from A&A in addition to the TF-2 kit.

We built a friend's 727 this way and, for him, it's perfect.

I wanted a forward pattern manual valve body for my car. One of the advantages of this was eliminating the kickdown linkage. It works very well also.
