I just purchased a Magnum engine to install in my 1984 D350 crew cab, and I would like to keep the fuel injection.

The gas filler on appears appears to be in almost the exact same location has the gas fillers on the 94 and newer trucks.

Since I am keeping the fuel injection, I'd like to use the factory pump in the tank. Has anyone swapped the newer tank into an older truck?

my '88 had a throttle body V6, swapped a carbureted 318 from my '87.
tanks swapped out perfectly.

any of the 92-93 D/W series tanks should have the correct magnum pump and swap right in there.

not sure if the TBI in-tank pump have the same PSI/flow rate to run a magnum MPFI system.

you could always run a aftermarket fuel pump for fuel injection with a deadhead pressure regulator or add a return line/regulater.

I realize I could hunt down an EFI pre '94 tank, but the newer ones are a lot more plentiful....

Good luck with getting any Fuel mileage with the stock EFI
My CrewCab did better than the 1/2 ton SWB reg cab 97 Sport 2wd I took it out of on fuel Both trucks tipped the scales at just over 5000# the 97 having 3.55's with a 31' tire got 16-17 Hwy the same engine with a carb spinning 4.10's with a 31" tire got 19 Hwy in my CrewCab
94 up tank won't fit at all It's way too tall

Thanks, Bob. up

I scored an Edelbrock Magnum carb intake last week, new in the box for $150. Putting my Edelbrock carb on it.

My Crew got 16.4 driving to the Mopar Nationals with the old 360 and 4.10 gears, and the original non-OD 727 in it. I was pretty surprised it did that well!
