What is the biggest 15" wheel and tire combo that will fit on the rear of 68-70 Coronets without any body mods. I'm looking at a 15x10 inch wheel that comes with either a 4.5" or 4.75" backspace. I will be installing a new pair of leaf springs that have 2" lift over stock. Any feedback and pics would be helpful. Thanks!

15x10 should be fine. I just bought 15x9 with 5" bs slots from summit with 295 50 15s and there is plenty of room.

Thanks pettyblue. When you say there is plenty of room. Do you mean to the outside? With the 5" backspace I would think that would make it pretty close towards the spring and inner wheelhouse? Which brand tire are you running?

Here is a link to an older topic discussing large wheel and tire sizes on 68 - 70 Coronets.
Check my replies from me GMP440.

GMP440, In the link you provided killerbee is running a 5.5" bs and pettyblue is using a 5" bs in this post. Am I asking for trouble on the outside with a 4.75 bs?

My tires would rub on the inside of the wheel well/ leaf spring. Just on hard cornering as mentioned in that thread. I'm putting a Dana in it now with super stock leaf springs. Hoping there won't be any interference with the new set up.

Killerbee, So just a little less backspace and rubbing wouldn't have been a problem. How much clearance did you have between the inside of the tire and wheelhouse setting still? Just trying to get an idea how much movement there is in the back when pushing it. Do you think a 4.75 backspace would give me issues on the outside? Thanks

Also, Jon no need for pics, knowing which tire I can pull up the specs.

Anyone running the Coker Pro Trac N50-15 or M/T Sportsman S/R 28x12-15 in a stock bodied Coronet ?
