I have this Chrysler and last yr in may (2014) it started hard. It threw a code of p0340 which is the cam sensor. I replaced that and it was good. About a month ago it was starting hard again. After a few weeks it threw the same code. After research a cause to this code could be a bad battery. Had the battery tested and it tested bad. After we replaced the battery it ran fine for a week or two. No lights. Then this week it threw cam sensor code again. So I exchanged the sensor under warranty. I replaced it yesterday and now is throwing codes P0340 and P0344. I inspected the plugs and the short pig tail and they both seem to be fine. Has anyone experienced this or can point me in the right direction? HELP ME!! Car has 100k miles with the 3.5l. Thanks, Eric

I don`t know if this is your problem or not but are you replacing it with a mopar sensor? I had issues with a aftermarket one before. I replaced it with a mopar sensor and magnet and it was good to go after that. Also sometimes the crank sensor can go bad and throw that code too IIRC.

I had a hard starting problem with my 2001 300 M some years ago at 70,000 miles. It turned out I had 2 cracked fuel injectors. The dealer had a difficult time in diagnosing the problem. It went on for several months and multiple trips to the dealer. Fortunately I had an extended warranty.

I had a 99 300m that needed a crank sensor. Ive been wondering if it could be that. Maybe I will give it ago. No, Im not using mopar sensor. Im using the ones from Orielly auto. I know I know, but Ive had pretty good parts from there the last 10yrs or so.

If the fuel injectors are cracked, don't they spray fuel at all?

Thanks,

Eric

Well, I guess Im going to have to pony up the cash and get the car on a real diagnostic machine. I replace the crankshaft sensor and still starts hard. I was going to check my fuel pressure but I need to buy a special adapter to hook up the gauge because mine wont fit in the little hole it needs to.
