Who has the low down on the best pliers for our crappy corbin clamps? Im so tired of them coming apart in my hands or not having enough squeeze for the big clamps.

Make your own! take a pair of cheeap slip joint pliers & grind 2 slots at the right distance from the fulcrum so your particular size of corbin clamps are squueezed just the right amount

Thanks guys!

As soon as the word cheap is brought up Im out! Thats why I end up busting knuckles and scratching stuff.

The fact youve had your S-Ks for 35 years is probably why they work so well, the crap out now is not as good. I will try another S-K but My pair from several years ago wasnt so hot.

Snap On use to make a good pair but you'll pay. I got a set of locking ones from Grainger but paid $48 for them.

I've had these KD #429 pliers for 30 years. The tips swivel and have two different size slots for different wire gauge Corbins, and lock also. I've seen good used ones on eBay between $5 and $20.

I have these same ones I just bought at Napa, they work awesome. Comes with a lifetime warranty too.

I have a set of those KD 429's. After thinking more I'd cut 2 grooves in the end serrations (each side of course) at the tip but along the CL of the pliers instead of sideways like the staggered grooves that are already there in the pliers when they are mfr'd. I think that'd work awesome

The best Corbin Clamp Pliers are the ones that you use when you pick up the clamp and toss it in the trash.

Did I mention I hate them?

Get a cheap pair from Harbor Freight or the like. A Dotco can make a slid in it cheaply
