Who carries tranny dust shields for an 11 inch torque converter? My tranny guy who built my 727 for my 440 powerwagon installed a 11" instead of a 12" converter because supposedly he thought it would be a dog at low RPM's which makes no sense because it's 9:1 compression, 442/465 summit cam and 4.10 gears! The only dust shield I have is for a 12" converter. I know that I have to have it revved way up before it will accelerate. I wonder how much worse fuel economy I'll get because of that?

I thought the only difference was between 727 big block and 727 small block trannys, the converter should not change anything
Post a wanted add in the swap, someon will probably give you one as they are not hard to come by at all. Try to find an original as the re-pops don't always fit very well. I had one once from Yearone and threw it away.

The dust cover on the front of the trans covering the converter bolts is what you are talking about?

It is the same no matter what converter you have.

There is only one size, and you have it.

The smaller convreter will have a better stall speed. If you have to rev it up to move it, there is something wrong with it.

The converter in my car is only 9.5". It flashes at 3400 to 3600 under full throttle launch.
At idle the car will drive right over you if you let it. No need top rev it up

Are you having contact issues? I got an aluminum one from GregZ at MagnumHP that has a thin spacer giving me the clearance I needed but his site is closed right now.
