Hey guys,

My 04 Ram A/C is cutting out at around 3000 rpm. What would cause that? Is there a relay I can replace?

Thanks!
Randy

By "cutting out" do you mean the airflow at the dash registers stops?

Don't know if the '04 still has vacuum motors that control the modes, but on earlier trucks the problem was loss of vacuum at heavy throttle...remedied by the addition of a vacuum check valve.

The air stops blowing cold and blows warm at a lesser velocity.

I've got an 04 and they have a problem with the vent doors. You're loosing vacumm at higher RPM and the door is partially shutting allowing outside air to overwhelm the AC. Try it with cabin recirculation on, it may help. The vacuum check valve mentioned above may also help.

Here's a link to the TSB dealing with this problem on earlier trucks.

Thanks guys, it does it with recirc on, so maybe that check valve will help.
