My GTS 340 came with the 4425S and I'm having problems getting to run right. Not sure what the problem is. After I rebuilt it the car will start but if I punch the throttle it bogs and would die if I don't let up and feather the throttle up. I plan on rebuilding it again.

In the mean time I found a 4615SA that the guy who's selling it says is rebuilt to handle the current pump gas and also says it will run on my GTS. This carburetor is listed for the 69 RR 383 standard.

First confirm that the AP tip in is immediate & a sufficient duration stream. float levels, no vac leak. ported or manifold, initial in the ballpark (not way retarded). when did the prob start/more info needed

Well, I decided to rebuild and while disassembling it discovered that I hadn't tightened the pump jet screws. Regardless I'm going to go ahead and rebuild it again and this time I'm going to thoroughly soak and clean the carb.

Any recommendations on how far to disassemble and what to use to soak it in? What to soak and what not to soak and any magic process I should be using?

OK, so was it acting up after rebuilding the carb & this was before you discovered the loose squirter screw & you opened it up/discovered that/tightened it up & now is it OK or still bad? Not a dealbreaker but I lube bowl screws as they go into aluminum & with freqent jet changes it dont hurt to be proactive with the threads. All OE AVS's are lean & can benefit from converting to Eddy 2 step pri rods/short jets but lets get the original issue squared away first. check throttle shaft/bore for looseness which can cause a vac leak. Carbs get dirty/gummy over time but the mechanical adjustments dont change per se so If you find your self making major changes in adjustments then recheck the white sheet or holler here. floats parallel, jets dont need to be severely tightened, lightly lubed with oil on threads is fine & dont even need to remove the jets before soaking as they tend to be stuck, float tang contacting needle at ~ a 90 deg (right) angle when the needle is shut, again not dealbreakers but tidbits. #1 #1 SAVE ALL old gaskets & compare them to the new ones in t e kit. check base plate on bottom for warpage
