Hi Mopar lovers out there!

Did ya see the stainless steel block hugger headers for small block Mopars on ebay for $158.95 plus free shipping? (I did)

I want to put them on my '72 Satellite pro-touring project, but from the pictures of the headers, it looks like the collectors aim directly at the steering linkage below with very little room for an elbow. And it looks tight around the steering box too.

Any thoughts as to if they will actually fit without any major problems from someone who has used any make block hugger headers on their Mopar, would be greatly appreciated!

I wondered about those headers too. Honestly, I wouldn`t think $158 is going to get you much. They seem to be a fits all type design. At least I`ll give you a bump so maybe someone with experience with them will chime in.

Yeah, but the quality looks amazing! The flange and welds look flawless. However, they are made out of 304 stainless steel instead of 409, but I'd rather have that than a ceramic coating.

I'm not looking for optimum engine performance. I think they'd look great, and I wouldn't have all those header tubes hanging down, since the car has 2'' drop spindles.

if just spaceing them out from the head with an added flange would solve it (assuming they dont fit in the first place) then that'd be an easy fix & Jerry at SDC (Superior Design Concepts) a board sponsor on here does awesome custom work. EDIT I agree you surely couldn't be getting much for that kind of money & we need input from a person who has em

Hi Rapid Ralph. Thanks for your view point.

I think I may have given the impression that I already purchased the headers. (hopefully not) I know it's along shot to find someone who installed them on their Mopar, but I had to try.

I don't think that this particular brand is going to fit between the block and the steering box. However, I do like things that stray from the norm. (like my brain most of the time) The same company sells a nice set of compact stainless headers for Dakotas and Ram trucks, that just might be the ticket! ...and they carry the "El cheapo" price tag too!

Umm uh... I admit it, I'm cheap!!!

read the ebay reviews on the feedback for the headers they sell, not so stellar

Excellent advice! I just checked the reviews on the company with the initials "S. D."
and that was enough for me to avoid buying anything from them, and also to stop looking at low-priced products which cost more in the end.

Thanks! I'm sure glad that I posted this quandary. Moparts members come through for me again!

I bought some Chinese headers for my 05 Ram 1500 with a 5.7 2 years ago. They fit pretty decently (one tube on the passenger side had to be dimpled). I've put about 20,000 kilometers on them and they're still holding up. They've been exposed to 2 Manitoba winters and that includes a good dousing of road salt, they do have some surface rust on them but not terrible. So I imagine that they're not the best grade of stainless on the planet but mine are doing okay
