My guides are worn top and bottom, more so across than end to end head direction, understandability. I just got these heads back from being ported and a new valve job so if the guides have to be replaced they'll need another valve job. It sucks because I told the head guy to do what ever was needed to get them in good shape. I'll call him Monday.
The two guides I measured were .0018 & .0015 in the center, the top .0028 & .0039, the bottom numbers were similar to the tops. I just saw this on a friends heads as well. Heads were ported with the head guy told to do what ever it needed. The motor failed (other issue) after 6 passes. Valve stems are worn over .005". Did that happen in 6 passes? I think not. Doug
