Hello everyone..

Need some help here, im no expert on this.

I have restored the original master brake cylinder and now when im need to bleed the front brake lines its not going my way.. the master brake cylinder has been bench bleed and reinstalled on car, the problem is that no brake fluid runs thru the front lines down to the calipers..

Has this something to do with the proportion valves under the master cylinder or??

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Nicklas

I had a friend that had similar issues when he redid the brakes on his 70 cuda. I am almost sure he could not get any fluid from the proportioning valve to the front brakes. As best I remember he had his lines on backwards to how they were actually supposed to be. I think he called either inline tube or fine lines whom ever he bought the kit from and they sent him the correct diagram and that fixed the problem.
He told me they went on backwards to how it appeared they would have.
That is just from what I remember from our conversation.
Hope it helps, Matt

Reset the Proportioning valve by pulling the pin outward on that valve body to open the ports

This problem seems to come up every month on here...Was'nt there a factory procedure involving a clip that got installed on that pin while the brakes were bled ??? I can't find the pic of it in my files....

Its a safety valve in there so when you lose a front brake line or a rear brake line the valve shifts and locks out the leaking side so you still can kind of stop..you have to center it..

This is what the factory bleeding tool, from back in the day, looks like, to keep the valve pin open, to get fluid through it.
