NHRA has allowed these classes to become laughable.

It's a Cobra Jet Mustang with a whipple. Runs Factory Stock/A. He also made a 7.90 pass in his SS/AA Mustang which has a Coyote motor with a whipple in front of a clutchless Liberty. Not sure what AA stands for anymore, as it used to mean AAutomatic, but obviously not anymore.

Blowers, turbos and nitros can make a Briggs&Stratten run fast. Take the blower off see how fast it runs. Or just let them all run one and watch the circus. Be like watching top fuel or funny car, gets old after awhile. I love that Barton runs in the 8s with a hemi challenger and he's a hero, but someone runs 8.38 with a factory stock blower and they are a circus. The first hellcat stocker that goes 8.37, we'll be worshiping them too. Technology is awesome. This is the new stock. Don't be mad because 50 year old stuff can't keep up anymore.

Ya and the average person can afford it too. Lol. RIGHT. And they are no where near stock How do you know how close to "stock" they are. You got one or tune one?......What does afford have to with anything. How many normal guys can afford a record holding, 60s HEMI stocker. As far as the Mustang being stock........it has to meet the same component limitations as any other stocker. They make better than 600hp off the showroom floor. The Hellcat makes 700. What are you going to say when one of those goes low 8s......and it will. I have an uncle who is an engineer on the Hellcat project team. He says the factory tune is crazy soft and the motor is built to make a 1000hp. It's called technology when you can buy a factory car that makes over 700hp and drive it everyday like a mini-van

Exactly........People are bagging on the Fords........but when Mopar decides to offer the Hellcat motor in the Drag-Pack cars and they go fast, that guy will be a god. No secret that Mopar seriously took advantage of the rules in the late 60s with the Hemi Darts and Cudas.........but heaven forbid another maker do the same thing now. But here is the MAIN thing, other than class runoffs or if you meet the same class car in eliminations.........it don't matter how fast it runs. Stock eliminator is a bracket race
