I just started driving my 71 RT..I noticed at idle or in drive my alternator gauge is a little past charging properly .. when driving the needle is almost pinned is this normal or am I overcharging? I changed the voltage regulator and does the same thing..
Thanks

Normally I've only ever seen that when using the alternator to recharge a dead or low battery.

See if your battery is fully charged or not. Then take for a drive. After battery fully charged if problem is still there could be in Regulator (which you tried already) alternator or wiring.
