Have an 80 D 150, pulled the slant 6 and A833. Built a 340 for it and found a bell housing for the A833. The pivot on the non engine side is mounted to a bracket bolted to bottom of the cab. Do i need to shorten the z-bar by an inch? If so off one end or out of the middle? On bell housing side does the pivot screw into bell housing or mount on a bracket that bolts to the housing?

The stud on a SB (&BB) bell is threaded into the bell. On a /6 bell, it is on a bracket that bolts to the bell.

I think the SB z-bar goes to the frame bracket that has the stud bolted to it. BB setups are to the frame. I've only seen /6 z-bar brackets bolted to the floor pan.
