My buddy is building a 400 based stroker with cnc potted edelbrock victor heads.

What intake options are out there and how do they stack up?

Thanks!!!

Not very many choices for a low deck MW. I covered all of the manifolds in my big block book and I don't think there are any new ones since then.

I'm using an Indy 4150 single plane with my Edelbrock RPM cnc MW ported heads. I don't know if it would fit the Victor heads though as I don't know much about them.

Are they ported Victors with 440 size ports or the Victor Max Wedge head with the M.W. size ports with additional porting? If Victor M.W. I would look at Indy 400- and 400-3, I used the Indy 400-3(4500 flange) on my current 505 C.I.low deck bracket motor with Victor M.W. unported heads and it does fit well up If not the Victor M.W heads Edlbrock sells a Victor intake for the low decks, I beleive scope

400-2 mocked up to MW port Victors. With a 9.98 deck the port alignment was really good. Everything else has been a complete PIA, but the normally poor port alignment was actually almost perfect.

Humble beginnings:

And if you buddy wants to really go for the "Fonzi Effect" he can run one of these:

Thanks for the infor guys.

It has the MW ports and he wants to run a dominator...so I guess the 400-3 it is with a 4500 flange.

Indy is the only Max Wedge Low deck intake I know of. I have the 4150 carb flange one, but that is limiting me to a 1,050 cfm 4150 style carb.
I'd like to go to the dual quad, but that's $$$$ I don't have right now.

I've seen several other members on here post saying they used the 400-2 intakes with the tapered dominator adapters to run Dominator carbs on there motors to make them make more power than running the 400-3 with no spacer confused I ended up using and testing both intakes on my old 518 pump gas stroker 400 motor during dyno testing, they where correct about the 400-2 with the tapered adapter compared to the 400-3 with no spacer, once I added a 1.5 inch high reversion spacer the 400-3 made a tiny bit(3 hp, 2 ft lbs. on the average shruggy) more HP and torque then the 400-2 did with the adapter shruggy Buy the 400-3 intake and use a 1.5 or 2 inch spacer with it up twocents
