I helped my old boss built his deck. He had some deck boards left over and I built a creeper out them, painted it red. It was steel reinforced but with regular creeper wheels on it. I used for years until one day I decided to set my motor and trans on it. It held the weight...barely and was hard to roll. I used it as a test fit.
I used old E body bumper mounts and a spreader bar that I used to pull supercharged engines with the blower on it to lift the front of the car. It did not bend the bumper mounting brackets. I figured it would but did not. Then my breakdown engine crane. I had it all already, didn't buy anything to do it.
There it was together for the first time. I could have got the K bolts in at that point and then a floor jack under the K is how I do it to lift the car after the K is under it.
You can see how good it rolled on creeper wheels...lol Like more skidding than rolling...lol
But then I got this furniture dolly, it sat just a little higher and rolled much better.
I sat the pan of the motor and the pan of the trans on this dolly. The K hung off the front of the motor by the motor mounts. It allowed the K to move some when I bolted it to frame.
The final night I bolted it up. Plenty of room to get a floor jack under the free hanging K with nothing under it at this point to lift the car. Think about that before you build a cart under your K if you don't have a lift and doing like I did.
Now that dolly is holding 2 small blocks on it still being used.
