I lost who made the info on closest to original shade of B5 blue to the original color (recommendations welcome, I need to order paint soon for my painter), but by a slim chance, is the new 2015 B5 blue maybe close to the 70 shade? It sure looks nice, have not seen one close up yet. Sure looks like it in the pictures.

Going to paint the bottom of the car with single stage, as well as engine compartment. The rest of the car is going to be base coat clear coat.

Mine is PPG 2019 over gray primer sealer which makes a difference and the color changes in different light like crazy

Just had a qtr panel and bottom of door done with gray primer and ddl 2019 perfect match. It was done lacquer very hard and expensive $200 just for paint and no clear coat. One of best blends I have ever seen into a 30 year old paint job

Assuming the 2015 B5 is the same or close to the 2009/2010 B5, not even close.

So DDL2019 is the paint code for 70 B5. Got it.

But do all manufacturer's net the same result? I have to ask as my painter likes PPG, but years ago, PPG screwed up the curious yellow mix (made it too green), by sharing it with an emergency vehicle shade. I remember reading about that on a guys 71 sport fury 6 pack car restoration, and PPG had to redo the whole car, and fessed up to how they came up with the bogus shade of curious yellow. Are they trustworthy now and don't try to share with some other color in their mix match to DDL2019?

Had to ask. Don't want to screw up my car. I guess a test spray will bare it out anyways.
