I would like to take one of those apart and see what makes it tick. For sure it is nothing like an Orange, Chrome or Gold box. I am not curious enough to pay the tab.

Everyone seems to like them from what I have seen here on moparts. Their claim that it makes 40 hp more than a MSD 7AL box is what makes me never want to buy anything from them.
MSD may not be the end-all/be-all of the ignition world, but to make a claim like that is pretty ridiculous. Unless the MSD 7 box they used had some serious issues.

I agree chip, that and the name. The name just makes it sound like a $19.95 infomercial special LOL.

I agree a 40 hp increase claim is a joke. It would not even get 40 hp over a point type ign if the point type is set up right. When we took the orange MP box off my sons Dart and put the MSD on it did not go any faster at all and it idled and ran the same since the dist was set up to work good with the orange box. I agree that MSD is nice to help keep the plugs cleaner and have a stronger spark and MSD is a very good ign but if you run a basic electronic ign and have it set up right on a mild bracket race car (like 11's or 10's)you wont gain much if any hp when going to a more race oriented ign. If any car gained even 20 hp then it just tells you your old ign is not set up right. It may be a very good ign but we all know the only way anyone can put it on their car and gain even 20 hp is if they dont know how to set up their old ign right. It makes me laugh to here them claim a 40 hp gain. laugh2 biggrin Ron

Im not gona start a debate about this and i do not have any real facts regarding any hp gains thoe there have been some indipendent tests that backt that up but what i can say is that it is a plug and play unit whitout any what so ever Cuts or mods to the Engine harness if you have the MP system in your car and in my case it have not faild me for two years now whit a built in rev limiter that works great and so far nobody useing this Product have had any complains on how it works.

Don't mean to hijack thread but I use a Hi-Rev 7500 with noticeable improvement over a stock unit just wondering if anybody has had similar experience.I have improved idle and starting with mine.

Thanks for everyone's input on this. Really looking in to it for a friend, as I don't use the Mopar ignition on my race car, but I will be using the Mopar conversion ignition on my 1933 Plymouth coupe project and might use it there. beer
