Yes, I must confess, has been a slacker so must ask if someone can come with pleasant news regarding the production of interior rear side panels for E-body convertibles. Not the known palco or other fiberglass joke with lousy fit & patterns ..
Thanks
/ Michael

A while back I pm'd some members trying to get pictures/dimensions of the panels. Said they would, but I never heard back.

I went ahead and contacted some injection molding places anyways. After a couple rough quotes of $100k for the molds (I didn't ask if that was for one side, or both) I pretty much let it drop.

But, I'd still be interested in detailed pictures and rough dimensions, you know, for science grin

If you ever find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

3D printing, anyone?? Just a thought...I imagine it can only be a matter of time before this is a viable (affordable and functional) option for these panels??

One of the problems with 3D printing is the overall size that most printers will do is probably smaller than the panels.

Also the printed surface isn't always nice and smooth like you'd get from an injected part.

Find a quality Auto Stereo shop. They can build a frame and then glass over it. Will not look "original", but will work. They do work like that all the time building sub woofer enclosures. You can also try it yourself if you enjoy challenges and frustration... smile Check youtube for examples.

I hear you...but technology moves on, I'm guessing it's just a matter of time?
What can be done today is light years on from the stereolithography parts we used to do - even on home machines.
Anyway, here's hoping..
