With the SS springs you can dump the snubber BUT you will need a good adjustable shock to control the lift of the body. Snubbers were used back in the days of poor shocks

I ran one on my car. I had it touching the floor pan at rest. caused nothing but problems and eventually broke the tail housing. I diched it, copied 572 spring set up and the car launched much better. My advice is to pitch it. Clamping the springs had much more of effect than the snubber ever did.

thats because it's not supposed to be touching at rest.

I actually had the exact opposite problem. The pinion snubber broke and I didn't know it. The car kept breaking tailshaft housings/loosing bushings/etc...
I found the broken snubber, put it back in, and never had another trans problem again.
I will admit that the car had a slightly short drive shaft, but basically the snubber prevented the axle from winding up, and pulling the driveshaft out. This was on an 11.80's 340 duster...

I'm wondering if you guys that have tried it (with and without) have tried to adjust the shocks to make up for it.... or was it just put it on or take it off

I have tried running with and without the snubber on my car. I always 60ft's better with the snubber on. I have it set 3/4 inch from the floor. I take it off when driving on the street though, so it doesn't beat up the floorpan.
The only Carbs I care about are under the hood!
