Are 62-71 doors the same? How about the outside handles?
Have someone that needs doors for his 62 and I have a nice pair from a 69.
Thanks

Quick reply...No.

The latches and exterior door handles are different. But it's especially the door latch.

I have a 1965 D100 and a 1971 D100 donor truck. The early door latch uses an aluminum toothed wheel that ratchets as it rolls along the cab side toothed latch. This part wears out.

The 1971 uses a casting for the cab latch and an entirely different mechanism for the door part of the latch.

I mocked up the '71 part in the '64 with no luck. I think some of the door stampings were changed when the door handles were changed.

I found out that not all of these trucks are the same when I replaced the early tank with the later one. I had to move quite a bit of metal to even get the newer tank to fit.

Do you have a decent sender for the '71 tank? Mine had the wiper break off its shaft at the weld.

R.

Everything is definitely different between the two, been there done that. realcrazy 61-66 and some 67's have the early handles and latches, late 67-71 have the regular type handles and what I call B-Body latches. work To the previous post I am parting out a 70 D100 if you need the sending unit. wave

This was in response to Rhinodart, not the OP.

As far as I know, no 67s have the early style doors/latches. If you know of one with proof of VIN inform me. In most cases someone will say their (insert year) vehicle is different because they don't actually know the year of the vehicle. Titles are often wrong or state the year a vehicle was 1st sold and not the model year.
