I think I remember reading somewhere that they make main bearings that make this possible. Will someone let me know if this is true or if I was dreaming.

Yes, you can buy the bearing spacers to make it work. Mancini should have them.

Scratch that idea I could buy a 4" crank for cheaper than that.
