From my other posts you can probably see Im taking "valve springs" 101-

The Comp valve spring chart lists a coil bind of "1.050" for a certain spring.

First - Does this mean 1.050 inches ?

Second - what does it mean? - is this the height of the spring which is the maximum compression before the spring will bind?

It means the spring coils will be nearly stacked solid at that height.
Anyhow it lets you know what the springs maximum valve lift is. Subtract the coil bind height from the installed height to get maximum valve lift possable with that valve spring. If you try running more lift, the spring becomes solid and something will have to give like the pushrods or rocker arms bending or breaking.

No problem. I think I have been living here on Moparts the last month or so.
Just been checking out the posts while taking care of my sick wife, unsted of being out in the garage actually getting some work on the car done.
