As stated, the cabs are mostly the same if it's a club or crew cab. 1981 is when the redesign happened, and from that point forward, the regular cabs got a much flatter, more squared-off roof.

The Club Cab was done after 82 but started up again in 91. Same cab.
Kevin so....you are saying that the Club Cab sheet metal, roundness of the roof and all are the same as the 70's era cab...??

The Club Cab was offered from 73-82 and again from 91-93. As said, check for any minor differences. I'm sure there are some based on the different interior trim they could be had with.

Some differences that nobody has mentioned yet. The heater opening in the firewall changed in 1981. So 73-80 cabs use the early heater and 81-93 cabs have a different opening. Plus the square hole for the main wiring harness changed a couple times. The wiper motor also moved over a bit in the 80's. later truck got a hydraulic clutch so there is holes for that to consider for your earlier truck. The late cabs have an integral floor hump where the earlier cabs have a removable hump on 4 speed and 4x4 cabs. There are small and large humps too. The 90-93 cabs are made of lighter metal and dent easier. The rockers got sealed up in those years to prevent dust from entering, but it resulted in rusted out rockers which wasn't really an issue on the 73-82 trucks, especially the 81-82 models which Chrysler went galvanized crazy on for a couple years. The best cab for your truck would be a 73-80 with the appropriate floor hump

I don't recall the clubcab stopping production. Theres a 90 for sale not far from me. They did for a few years but I think Wikipedia and the responses above about are wrong about 91 being the restart. It was 1990.

I have absolute proof that if you are looking to buy a solid sheet metal vehicle....."DO NOT" under estimate places like MN where you would normally see cars & trucks that did not win the battle of Winter road chemicals....
I do not have any pictures in this computer right now to post to show everyone but when I saw this truck cab for the first time 2 days ago....I was completely blown away as to how wickedly "SOLID" this thing is for a near 40 year old vehicle.
The one I bought is the one in the MN, MN Craigslist auto parts section. All I really wanted from it was the club cab shell but it came with the rolling chassis and even the frame is nice...!! (no bed, doors or front clip) but I got a steal of a deal for what I did get.....!!!
This cab is so nice.....if a person did not know that it came from MN, you would swear that it came from NV, AZ, NM, CA, WA or any other dry climate state. I cannot wait to take the pressure washer to the bottom of it and clean the metal........
