Well, you could always blame the fuel, that's what the next 50 posts will do!

Completely dry ? If power valve, there would still be some fuel left in bowl.Put a paper towel under front bowl.let it sit and see what happens.

I had a pv leak and it did not show up on my A/F sensors. I knew something was leaking on my front bowl so I removed the carb and mounted to 4 posts using the flange hole pattern. Then I filled the bowls and put a blue paper rag under the carb. The rag started getting wet 4-5 hours later. Over night the bowl leaked down, but not at first. Each time the fuel level was as the bottom of the power valve. I talked to Quick Fuel about this and the tech told me to check my PV by holding onto it with both hands (one hand on the hex and the other hand on the brass tip). He said if you can rotate the pv in opposite directions (lightly) with your hands, the pv was bad. So I tried it and my pv wiggled back and fourth. I decided to test my collection of pv's and eight of them were good and the last one spun, so I threw it out. I even took one that I had cracked and I tested it too. Since it was already cracked, but it was good on the test, I decided to see how much force it took to rip the diaphram. It took a little more force than I would have guessed.

You might want to test the PV and see how it feels.

so I've been having a series of leaks off the front bowl on this carb. changed all the gaskets and the powervalve and then discovered a leak again after changing everything.
discovered something strange, when I first start the car the fuel pressure is up around 11 psi and the float adjustments look way to high above the sight glass. after running for a good 5 mins it starts to come down and after about ten mins it at 6. since I've been trying to figure out the leaks I've only been running the car enough to fill the bowls so the pressure is high when I shut it down and I think that's the cause of my leaking issues.
but whats up with the high fuel pressure?? I'm running the Eddy rpm mech. pump.

Not sure the high pressure would cause the bowls to go dry after sitting.

More than once, I have had the little rivet/diaphram on the accelerator pump have a slow leak that would drain the bowl after a few days.

The paper towel idea mentioned earlier would identify this too.

well I let the car run long enough until fuel pressure droped to 6 from 11, about 15 mins. shut it down and so far no leaks in 24 hours.. Duno
