Well my project chassis is coming together slowly, so time to start putting the final touches on the motor.

However, I am not a cam guru by any stretch, and a turbo cam is uncharted territory for me.

Street Strip use -
#3600 car
no converter yet - figuring 4200-4400
3.55 rear gear
33x21.5x15 tires

Mopar 4-bolt block
twin 76mm 4202
Indy EZ-325cnc heads 2.19x1.81 370cfm
Harland Sharp 1.5 roller rockers
8.5 to 1 comp
4.25 Stroke
4.385 bore
6.76 rods
Port injected EFI

Current idea is to keep the rpms under 6800prm and boost under 20psi

I am considering something like
.615/.615 lift
244/244 @ .050
110.0 centerline
114.0 Lobe Seperation

Mine is a custom comp cam, it's pretty small next to my naturally asperated cam.

I wanted more lift but they assured me I didn't need it.

PS. Put more compression in it, turbos like it.

+1 on what FastOp stated. I would run at least 9:1 to 9.5:1. What are the valve events? How much overlap?

What are your ET goals? Unless you want to run mid 8's, your combo with a mild roller will get you in the low 9's with a very streetable and tame cam.

I am running a .520 hydraulic roller with only 220 duration and a single turbo with Eddy heads and 389 inches.

My cam is not much bigger then the one you asked about and I have been over 140 MPH in the 1/8.

no need for any more compression with that much cubic inches and twin gt42's...they will light off great especially with those good heads......I bet that bullet would actually spec out something even larger....20 psi on that motor and those turbos should make 1300+ hp......

I had the same basic turbos on my indy headed 408 small block and they lit of pretty good...

The goal is to have a street car that can run NHRA SuperComp with only a change of tires. 1300-1500hp is about what I am looking at. The car should be able to attain a low 8 sec run, but I really don't feel the need to run that fast. I am building the cage to 7.50 spec, but leaving out the funny car cage so I don't have quite the jungle gym to climb out of at the local diner. So it will be cert'ed for 8.50.

It is a car that will be driven more than raced. but I spend a fair amount of time at the track.

I am hoping for about 165-170mph in the 1/4 mile. I plan on using BOV's to control boost on the launch and act as the "throttle stop".

IMO, Good baseline Cam getting started.
.642/.657
254* Intake / 248* Exhaust @ .050"
Installed 110*
114 Lsa

The shorter exhaust duration gives higher pressure. You will need a tighter convertor. Target 140 psi on the Cranking Pressure with about a 66-68 intake closing ABDC.

Better to be a "has been" than a "never was".

Heres the cam i choice for a similar build 470cid 440-1 heads, single turbo going in a 62 valiant

You may need a to think about that gearing turbos like to be held back some you may want to think about 2.94 or 3.23
Just my 2 cents

"I am hoping for about 165-170mph in the 1/4 mile. I plan on using BOV's to control boost on the launch and act as the "throttle stop"."

BOV's dont control boost nor will they act like a throttle stop. they are already open when you are off the throttle releasing access boosted air. Those would be wastgates. And if your looking to get involved as what you are talking i would invest in a good boost controller like AMS500 or 1000 or boost leash.

X2 on the gearing suggestion.

I have the ams500 with co2 in the valiant now and its money well spent..Also its the waste gate that controls boost the Bov is for releasing the boost when the motor goes into a vacuum state like when you let up on the throttle..
Also i control timing with msd6al 2 program able and a lock dizzy
