EDIT EDIT Found a set of rims off a 79 Bronco bolt pattern is same according to what I've read centerbore is 86.7 on bronco rims and only 77.8 on my 89 dodge w150. Is that a big deal? I do regularly load it up but is a 2wd and i stay on road. I see they make inserts for the centerholed but havent seen any that fit this combo. Anybody use ford truck rims on this era truck? They are just the 15" wagon wheels but at 30 bucks for the set would like to give them a go. Thanks again

I have an 89 2wd Dodge w150 with 15" rims. I have found a set of 16" factory aluminum rims off of a 2001 2wd 1/2 ton truck. I have searched moparts and web went to tire rack site etc... a few times and cant find a definitive answer. From what I've found is I believe they are both 5x5.5" bolt pattern but i dont know about center bore and offset(sites I found dont have info of 2001 16 inch alum rims yet). They are about an hour drive away so hoping to get some answers here. Thanks

center hole is too small on the newer rims and they have a deeper back space. you could machine the center hole out but the rims would look funny
because they sit too far up under the truck.

I put a set of steel16" rims off a '96 onto an '89 I had. Had to get the center register opened up on a lathe and the back set is different. They fit, the fronts had no issues but the backs would rub the inner box sides if you came around a corner to hot, they were really close, but they did work

thanks for the answers. I figured they wouldnt work because it would have been too cheap a solution lol(guy wanted 150 for the set of 4 with tires so i could get the winter tires off it and in storage). I wouldnt mind having wheels machined to fit center hole but wrong offset kills deal. Basically I need to find rims off a 84-91 dodge truck or go aftermarket it seems.

No, it's simple...Use a 5 x 5.5 to 5 x 5.5 spacer. It does two things:
1. Moves the wheels out where they look good, and
2. Removes the need to machine the centerbore.

I've got a set of the chrome 16s on my $500 ford pickup and they look pretty good. You can get four spacers for around $100.

Don't do it if you regularly overload the truck. I use my truck for getting places. The most it carries is a 700lb engine.

I put a set on my 88 from a 94+,after machining the center they fit fine, ran 245/60/16 all around, never rubbed.
I am thinking of selling to fund other items.

I definitely push the 1/2 ton rating on my truck regularly so spacers probably arent a good option. Was bought originally to take my sons big snapon toolbox to and from college and now is used only when I need a truck.

Thinking of putting on 79 Bronco rims looks like center hole is bigger on the ford rims. Is that a big deal or does it just make mounting easier? Just thinking about when it is loaded up.

ON a side note Moparborn are you thinking of selling the rims off of that truck or the whole truck? Shoot me an asking price if you are selling the rims.

just in case anybody wants to know NO they dont fit. Centerhole is too small(unlike some other websites said that they were not). It is too bad because they looked pretty good just wouldnt fully seat on hub. If anybody wants a set of Bronco rims cheap.... lol
