Thanks. When I take it out for a spin and people compliment the truck, I get a little extra satisfaction out of the fact that I painted it myself.

Oh yeah, it has plenty of flaws. Especially from this first time attempt at bodywork and paint. But it's a good 15-20 footer. For a beater that I can drive anywhere and not stress rock chips, runaway shopping carts and door dings. I'm happy. My registration finally came in for it yesterday so I can drive it now. Just wanted to show how the paint is holding up to anyone considering this method for a cheap beater, low budget project like mine, first car for a teenager, etc...

Just wanted to show how the paint is holding up to anyone considering this method for a cheap beater, low budget project like mine, first car for a teenager, etc... I had a few beaters I did this to back before this type of paint job was the thing to do..... The paint job always outlasted the car. Always. Looks real good Roe. ![thumbs thumbs](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/custom/thumbs.gif) Now, about those rims....... ![sick sick](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/custom/sick.gif)

JY's didn't have them and all online places were out of stock. So I ended getting these on a deal at the j/y. ![](http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p248/roe007/Mobile%20Uploads/tmp_960-8311833-394462_494653337213379_1967241159_n-2004260931_zpsyqnvalqo.jpg)

Thanks a lot. And I'm definitely a use what you can get kind of guy. The overwhelming majority of the parts and pieces I've put on here were junkyard finds. He's just giving me a little good natured ribbing.

You did a fantastic job on the truck, Roe! Don't let anyone try to steer you into something else, use the wheels you have! I am a HUGE fan of using swap-meet bargains when come along, even if they aren't my first choice. True hot rodding right there! Use what you have/find! Truck looks great, you should feel very accomplished! X2000!!!

Thanks. I'm sold on this method and paint. For me the key was going to be how well it held up. And it's holding up well, which is what I wanted to show with the update.
