Friend of mine is leaving the country and bequeathed his old'n'busted '66 New Yorker to me.

This car is so far removed from anything that I've owned, it's my first:

2 ton + car
Automatic trans
Sedan
Bench Seat
V8
Big Block
Mopar
etc...

...and I'm quickly falling in love.

I've put about 200 miles on it since it has been under my care. The transmission (A727) doesn't like to shift out of 1st until it has warmed up a little and won't shift into 3rd until it has completely come up to temp. After putting ~100 miles on it in one day, the transmission last all motivation, forward or reverse, until the car sat for a bit and it came back. Tried to drive the car last week, and the transmission was slipping quite a bit. Turned the car around in the neighborhood and parked it. Looks like rebuild time!

Bought an A727 manual/rebuild guide, so hopefully it will be here next week so I can see what I'm getting myself in to.
