Do you notice any braking differences so far? I'm still beading them in (doing it slowly for even wear on the rotors and progressively firmer/harder for street use mostly), but after the first couple of 'slight firmer' brake-attempts I thought I could feel some more brake force coming from the front wheels. But that could also be wishfull thinking on my part. (I just read on their site that must have been the break-in coating feeling extra grabby in the beginning). I'll have some daily commutes to work and back this week on which I'll go easy on them, but will do some harder braking near the end of the week probably.

I ran the yellow stuff on my wife's jeep, she complained about the squealing but they would put you through the windshield. I wound up putting in some basic ceramics after they wore out, now I have to stand on the pedal to get it to slow down. She like it better because they don't squeal. I may just put dual piston calipers to get it to brake better off of a Grand Cherokee. See if you can buy the pads with the same "Professional Grade" lining as the D52 pads on my GrandWagoneer. Lots of grab, friction rating FF, semi-metallic, no-squeal, reasonably priced. Here's the details. Mfc: Raybestos Pad shape: D52 Edge Code: BPI-LC-FF Mfc Desc: Professional Grade Part Number: PGD52M Type of Lining: Semi-Metalic The G Wagoneer only has a single pot sliding caliper - nothing special. Yesterday I was carrying close to a full load (about 900 lbs) and it braked well, only got the linings hot enough to smell once. Of course I allowed for extra stopping distance and all the usual precautions with extra weight in the back. Rock auto specs them out as D477 pads for a 98 wrangler. My YJ has a grand wagoner axle, I may have to check them out for it. Tim

20 days have past since the installation of the Yellow Stuff pads and new discs. These pads do dust a lot more than the Hawks HPS, but they grab more as well. If I would have to put a percentage number on it, I would say they are about 10-15% better. No squeeling noticed, other than an occassional little squeek when applying the brakepedal. If these pads have rebalanced the rear brakebias in my car I call myself happy. I haven't done a full force emergency stop yet, but done a few 70-80% force stops which went nice and true. The finish on the rotors is still nice. Perhaps because I've beaded them in the easy way.

Do they grab and stop nicely when cold?

[quote=BigBlockMopar] Do they grab and stop nicely when cold? Mine don't.... not the best cold In my case? Much better when they get some heat in them. What are that like cold? Do you have to be: a) little b)fairly c)a lot cautious when braking when cold? What does it take to get them warm? How many stops? hard or regular stops?

They won't lock the front wheels until they get hot. They don't get hot enough until 5-6 hard stops. Eg. at the autocross track at Carlisle they gripped much better after about running half the track? I don't think I'd get them again, I'd try something else. I bought Carbotech AX6 to try on my AMG/Brembo calipers. I have Viper Brembo's now

Dust is a byproduct of good pads I have learned.
