I had talked to C&C Motorsports about on of their aluminum Ford A460 blocks. They are 4.900 bore space and they said if you send them a head gasket they would drill it for the PS Hemi bolt pattern. They make the blocks in a variety of deck heights. c&cmotorsports.com

Do not forget about the different exhaust/intake lifter angles on the Hemi 99!

yes the lifter angles are diffrent and you have to get that stuff right.Spoke to c&c and they put me on to western machine in NJ who have done this stuff many years ago, pretty expensive tho.I have a couple of places to speak to down here thiis comming week but i think ill be doing them here.Gonna be a big project, just making sure it wasn't a huge diffrence in price. Thanks again for those who replied really appreciate it.

I guess we should ask exactly what you are trying to do.

Are you trying to get a block that will fit the 4.900 heads to get some real cubes out of a 99 engine?

The $$$ can get up there pretty quick when you are trying one off stuff.

Give us an idea of the hp and cubes you want and what type of racing its for and maybe we can have some other advice or ideas for your project.

Diablo. No real class or cubes just got some 4.9merlin blocks and some old prostock parts just trying to put it all togeather as cheap as possible.Looks like im looking at 3-5000 AUD for the machine work unless someone knows of a cheaper 99 block this is what i have to play with.I'll be more than happy with 1000hp.I've always wanted a hemi and this is my chance. It's gonna be a bit of a project but hopefully i'll end up with a cool engine.I'm also working on a deal to get me on the track asap I will hopefully have the deal sorted in the next week.Ill be getting the pallet of junk picked up and on its way first of next month.

Hemi 99 stuff and cheap won't ever be in the same sentence. If you were doing your planned machine work yourself, it would probably be a viable exercise. Depending on what the geometry of the lifter bores end up being, you will most likely require a custom cam core (The lobe phasing will most likely be different)
