Took the charger out back on some back roads and played with it today with just open headers. From a 20-30 mph roll, I hammered it and pedal all the way down it just screamed and jumped as it should have.

Now, if I am cruising at 20-30, and ease into it or only push it down 40-60% of the way down, it isnt as crisp rolling on as it should, seems like it 'thinks' about it, not real crisp and immediate responsive as it should be.Let me explain it like my daughter does--

Hammer down, or quick revving- 'waaaaaaaaap, waaaaaaaaaap, waaaaaaaaaaaaap.'

easing into it, or 40-60% of pedal down it goes,' pla-pla-pla plaaaaaaaaaaap, pla-plap-pla-pla-plaaaaaaap."

Understand? If not i can make a video tomorrow. I think the carb just needs adjusting b/c when it runs thru the full exhaust it is fine.

Generally you have to add 1 or 2 jet sizes with open headers.

based on your description is sounds like it wants a more agressive accelerator pump shot.

What kind of carb is it?

Sounds just like what my Edl. 600 is doing, especially just off-idle. I've been squashing other bugs and haven't gotten to the accel pump yet, although I'm betting that's it.

(318, headers + dual exhaust)

If you ever find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.
