can anyone tell me if the bosch[solinoid style] and the nipondenso [gear reduction style] will interchange on 3.0/3.3 engines ? say 95 -2005 engine range ? i know there is a slight wiring connector difference. thanks in advance !

I think the 3.0L has a three bolt mount and a 3.3L has two. Any 3.0L should fit a 3.oL and any 3.3L should fit a 3.3L, wiring may need some altering but nothing major. ps most of the time a contact in the solinold goes bad, if you are near a starter/generator shop it not a big fix.

thanks for the reply. my fsm sort of indicates the same starter is used on all engine options, but is not real specific. i remember swapping out this setup one time before, but i don't remember which engine it was. i don't have starter problems, but i have a fairly new starter on my old bus, and was going to put it on the shelf for future use just in case. any other opinions ?

After a quick research on Autozone.com, the parts numbers for starters for a 95 caravan with a 3.0 and a 3.3 are different starters. Also, for 2005, there is no 3.0 available and the 3.3 starter is different than the 95 starter, or at least they all show different part numbers.
