I think ford and Toyota used them from the factory. I have them in my street driven dart BTW.

well I have to say what I think mostly of ball bearing axles are not pressed in axle I think, they are simply fit between axle and housing like any regular bearing, and then the C clips at the end, into carrier, doesn't need adjust from one againts the other so never a side load against bearings cups, at leats not like the 8 3/4 design. On ball bearings design WITHOUT C clips at the end, maybe you get more load on bearings than regular assemblies with C clips, so is being just holded by the pressure itself with axle. I know,is something extreme, but something to think about depending on where ( town characteristics ), and how you plan to drive it
