They are rebuilding my 499 cubic inch indy headed engine. My old block ended being cracked after about 300 passes. I have indy heads with t&d individual shaft rockers. Oil was supplied to the heads through the pushrods. What oil mods should be done to the block if any? I just don't remember from the first build.

I trap between 7200 to 7350 depending on weather conditions at the quarter mile. But I usually run 1/8 in south texas so I trap at about 6700 in the 1/8.

I will let the BB guys answer your question but that really
doesnt need anything special.. I will guess your using a roller
cam and lifters.. on the few BB that I did for high rpm I bushed
the lifter bores and drilled the main holes just to make sure
they didnt have any restrictions.. I use 5/8 groove main bearings

The most important thing to check is the passages from the gallery to the mains. The factory often did a poor job of drilling those passages so you always need to run a reamer thru them to make sure they are open. But it is a dangerous job since if you break a reamer in the block then you've ruined the engine. I have a small collection of reamers so I can put one in there that just barely clears then slowly increase the size by 1/16th at a time until the passages are open.

If you have the money it is a really good idea to have the lifter bores bushed. But you need to find a shop that has the correct equipment to do it. The lifter bores need to be properly indexed which requires a rigid setup and precise locating. Getting all of the lifter bores in the correct location will add power. Reducing the oil leaks will also save a little bit of power by reducing the work the pump has to do as well as reducing the windage inside of the engine.
