Are the MP rocker shafts any good? Are they durable? This is for a stock 383 application.

What about these rockers?

Are there any alternatives?

You'll need right and left side rockers. My MP rockers have been in service for years without any trouble. Currently on Edelbrock heads with an SSH-44 cam from Racer Brown.

God those are pricey We got the ones for the 413 at Advance auto IIRc i believe all 16 heavy duty were like 110 bucks they were TRW I believe. For that price you could probally buy a good set of used iron adjustables.Unless the shafts are missin or torn up they usually dont need replaced for stock.Rocky

Are stock rockers the same for big block and small block?

If so Mark, I have like 2 sets of used ones you can have for free.
I don't know the condition but you can have them.

I'd be lerry of the MP shafts, I would not buy them from MP personally. I'm lerry of everything MP.

At Autozone a few years ago, I bought Melling shafts. Can't remember exact price, but it wasn't anywhere near $60 each.

MP doesn't make anything, they are repackagers.

Rockauto shows shafts for about half priced and arms a bit less than the MP stuff you posted.

They say there are no such thing as a stupid question.
They say there is always the exception that proves the rule.
Don't be the exception.

Yes, for your app sealed power would be a very good (& economical) choice

Gary - I appreciate it but they won't work. I found a decent set off of a 440, but I am going to buy new Sealed Power. I did not know that they were available from vendors outside of MP. That's why I asked!

Hopefully the Sealed Power ones haven't become garbage quality...........

I bought Elgin brand B/RB rocker arm with shaft packages before. Found them on eBay. Think I paid $100. Seemed to be good quality. I think they were U.S.A. made. -> Elgin Industires - Home Page

IMHO most of those rockers came out of the same factory, just put in different boxes.

Mopar Performance doesn't manufacture anything. They have stuff made to their specifications, with their advertising gimmicks added, like a splash of purple paint on a camshaft. I wonder how many thousands of camshafts have been sold on the basis of that splash of purple paint?

We got them from Advance auto and got heavy duty ones IIRC the kid had like 100 bucks in all 16.They looked good and were in the 413 with a cam for like 15 years and thousands of miles .His cam was fairly mild.Rocky
