what is a reasonably decent max valve lift I can go on a set of heavily ported and modified J heads with kb hyper 107 pistons
and what valve springs to go with it?
I have a set of solid roller lifers I may use also.
I am looking for someone with technical experience on high lifts with kb 107 pistons and or J heads.

I'm having a 360 being put together that has the KB's 107's and a 'J' head that been milled to get a 60cc chamber.
The cam is a Hughes solid cam (don't have the part no here at work) it's the one with the 107* lobe separation angle and has .534" lift. The springs are the Hughes 1129 springs (they don't carry the 1111 springs anymore) with a 1.8" installed height.
My engine builder checked it without the head gasket and exhaust valve clearance is .180 and intake valve clearance is .115 plus .040 for head gasket.
The block is also been zero decked.

Clearance will also vary if you advance or retard the cam from the checking point.

They say there are no such thing as a stupid question.
They say there is always the exception that proves the rule.
Don't be the exception.

The cam has been installed with 2* advance.
The cam is a Hughes HEH3742AS solid cam.
The specs are as follows:
Lift with a 1:5 rocker - Intake .534 / Exhaust .543
Duration @ .050 - Intake 237* and Exhaust 242*

I am going to have to either go with a custom exhaust lobe .. or find some 1.6 exhaust rockers.i have 1.5 exhaust rockers in it now.

I have stage 5 offset intake rockers that are 1.6
the cam I have in it was custom made and has a larger exhaust lobe to compensate for the 1.5 exh rocker I was using..
they are hand me downs jesels. My issue is I want to use the air that these heads flow. they peak around .570"
I don't want piston to valve interference either.
and was looking .to build a cam
I can check piston to valve clearences now but not sure at what piston/crankshaft *degree to check it at before and after tdc..
